R2.8m Drug Bust In WC

CAPE TOWN – Western Cape police say two Table View women will remain in custody after drugs worth R2.8 million were found hidden in the ceiling of their flat.

Officials confiscated 70,000 Mandrax tables at the property this week.

R700,000 possibly generated through their drug trade was also found.

Provincial police spokesman Andre Traut says, “Using a crime intelligence driven operation in Table View, two sisters, aged 50 and 31 respectively, were arrested for being in the possession of Mandrax tablets to the value of R2.8 million. They are detained until their court appearance once they have been charged.”
